Prof. Scholz is also a keen property developer. Since 2007, he established a property portfolio currently comprising 14 single-family houses, 1 flat, 1 allotment, and 29 building plots. All building plots have planning designations mainly for single-family houses. Some plots are located in holiday areas and have planning designations for single-family holiday homes. All properties are located in Southern and Central Sweden.

Prof. Scholz speaks, reads, and writes in English and German on a native proficiency level. He is currently studying Swedish. His communication skills and working knowledge are moderate.

Miklas moved to Sweden in 2017 and started a new position at Lund University. In 2023, he moved back to Germany. He is enjoying his free time with his kids Philippa, Jolena, Felix, and Jamie. Philippa and Jolena are studying in Sweden and the UK, respectively. The boys are attending primary school in Sweden.

Apart from reading predominantly nature, science, and engineering books, Miklas enjoys collecting antic items such as books. He likes jogging both in urban areas as well as in the countryside.

Miklas likes traveling and gardening including planting trees. He dreams of running a forest or tree nursery one day.
